Birmingham City Council approached us at Mural Republic to help them with their CSM Live city dressing program for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and Paint Spectrum Birmingham was born. We worked with the council to identify impactful locations across the cities neighbourhoods to host the artworks. We conducted an extensive search of local Birmingham and international commonwealth artists, inviting sketch submissions to whittle the artworks down to the selection below. Artist submitted designs were produced by Mural Republic painters over an intensive and hot 5 week period in the run up to the event across the city.
