Mural Republic were delighted to have been chosen to support the launch of the Hold Still Community Exhibition and to help bring the iconic portrait of NHS nurse Melanie to everyone’s attention, on our impactful mural site in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. This arresting hyper realistic image of Melanie was painted across 4 days to raise the profile of the exhibition, a collaboration between Kensington Palace, The National Portrait Gallery and the Co-Op capturing the mood of the nation. Images of the artwork have travelled globally, featuring in both print and online press articles, in major publications (including front pages) and across social media. This clearly demonstrates how mural artworks can galvanise a larger integrated campaign, providing a high impact visual anchor point to start conversations when amplified by solid PR. This investment drove earned media value far outstripping the initial cost of the paint.
